In Accra, Ghana, por por (pronounced paw paw)sounds the name of squeeze-bulb honk horns. Originally a fixture on colonial-era wooden lorries, the horns were later repurposed by drivers in the township of La as musical instruments for union driver funerals. Cool Running presents stories of the drivers and their vehicles, and the invention of por por music in over two hundred captioned photographs, on the CD Klebo!, and a DVD with the films The Story of Por Por (optional English, French, Italian subtitles) and MV Labadi, and a book download of pioneer driver interviews. A collaboration of Accra photographer and oral historian Nii Yemo Nunu, filmmaker and recordist Steven Feld, and Hannah Schreckenbach, who No Time to Die book in the 1970s offered an early document about the vehicles.
